Go Diego Go!

Today i was talking to my community Julian. Who helped me find a really interesting artist, his name is Diego Rivera. As i google searched him i found a painting of a landscape he did. Thats the painting above. This is perfect! so i have decided to change my painting into this. since im not too experienced drawing people and/or animals. As i was talking to Julian he had said to just draw the upper half of the painting. I really like that idea a lot so now i am going to start sketching that. Two days ago my uncle who is also an art major had told me about a peruvian artist Victor Humareda. When i started to research him i really liked his work.

this one that is also a sort of landscape i really liked. The colors were really vibrant and i loved it. If i have time and i will try to do a painting based on Humaredas work.

  1. I love the Humaredas. Reminds me of Van Gohg - someone else you want to check out I think.

Rivera - funny you found that - I pulled a book out of his stuff this morning and tossed it in my backpack and then forgot to give it to you! Check the Moma.org website - I think they've his murals up right now.

  2. Diego RIvera was Frida Kalho's partner. I really like his art. Very bold. I had never heard of Humadera, but I will research about him. I love the painting you posted though.

  3. Diego Rivera is interesting, but I am more intrigued by Frida Kahlo's works of art- she created some of the most memorable paintings, like What The Water Gave Me.
Also, I agree with Luke DeLalio: especially the 2nd painting has that Van Gogh-esque vibe.
