I just got back from camp two days ago and i made some really cool pieces while i was away. I worked in ceramics, fibers and drawing and painting. It was a lot of fun! I really had fun in my drawing and painting class. This is my instructor Molly's self portrait that she was working on. I really really loved it. When i first saw it i was fascinated and stared at it for a while. Something about it is extremely cool. Its in oils and its still not finished. I like that everything is in black and white except what she is wearing. The day after Molly showed us this i was in our supply room getting paint and i look on her desk and she has a bag with the cherry pattern that is on her dress in the painting. Besides that I should be posting pictures of my ceramics and drawing and painting pieces soon.
They call that technique - the gray underpainting - Grisaille - i think it's spelled like that.
